A note on self-love this Valentine's Day
"What it means to love myself
The full experience of self-love, I've found, involves the good, bad and the ugly 👉🏽 It's the spa date on the one hand and working hard to break toxic patterns on the other
👉🏽 It's being easy on yourself on the one hand, and holding yourself accountable on the other
👉🏽 It's sleeping in on the one hand and building discipline on the other Self-love is about doing things that are often outside your comfort zone.
They are uncomfortable, difficult things we ought to do because we love & want the best for ourselves. For me the biggest investment in myself was learning about food and how it affects not only physical but also mental-health. I knew I had to make big changes in what I eat, as hard as it may be, because I wanted the best for myself.
Was it easy to unlearn and relearn so much ? No
Was it easy put it into practice and get off unhealthy foods completely? No
Was it easy dealing with people in the process? Hell No
But it's so worth it, it's a gift that truly keeps on giving.
Today, thanks to @sampoornaahara, it's that much easier to put your health first even when you don't have the time. Even when you can't put in the effort. Even when don't know where to start.
To me, that's powerful.
The same person who helped me learn this incredible lesson also taught me love in other ways @achyuthan.eswar Five years ago on this very day, we decided to take our friendship to the next level and hey, here we are! 💞
Today, I wish that you love yourself enough to work on yourself and live a healthy lifestyle - physically, mentally and spiritually ❣️"
