Yes, you can eat flax seeds raw. However, we do not recommend doing so because of its rigid hull. They will pass through your gut and come out as stools without digestion. Ideally, grind them first and eat them.
Should I Eat Raw or Roasted Flax Seeds?
Grind flax seeds into a powder and then eat them. Roasting is not recommended. If you roast them, the seed's oil gets oxidized when heat and air are exposed. You also run the risk of carbonizing them by over-roasting them. Roasting makes the oil rancid, changes the flavor of the seed, and makes it unhealthy for you to consume them. So, if you want to enjoy the benefits of flax seeds, then grind them before eating.
