Today, we are making a wholesome and delicious vegan chocolate cake made with whole wheat flour, cocoa powder, dry dates powder, flaxseed powder, date paste, almond butter and white vinegar. This cake is not only vegan but also gluten-free and dairy-free. With just a few simple steps you can make this moist and decadent cake that will be sure to impress your family and friends. Whole Wheat Flour 1½ cup
Cocoa Powder ¼ cup
Dry Dates Powder ½ cup
Flaxseed Powder 2 tbsp
Baking Soda 1 tsp
Date paste 1 cup (130g of dates soaked in 130 ml of water and ground up)
Water 1 cup
Almond Butter ½ cup
White Vinegar 1 tbsp
Vanilla Extract 1 tbsp
Preheat the oven to 170 C for at least 15 min.
Line a tray with parchment paper and set it aside.
Add the flaxseed powder into the water and let it sit for 10 mins.
Mix wheat flour, cocoa powder, dry dates powder, salt and baking soda.
Lightly sieve the dry mixture to break up any lumps.
Mix together the flaxseed water, dates paste, almond butter, vanilla extract, and vinegar until well combined.
Gently, mix together the dry and wet ingredients well using a spatula until the flour is well combined. The batter might be a little thicker than your average cake batter.
Pour it into a lined cake pan or tray and bake for 25 - 30 min.
After baking, cool it in the pan for a few mins and gently remove the cake and place it on the wire rack, let it cool fully.
